Finishing-Hands On with Rich Johnson

Overview: An incredible opportunity to learn about the theory of finishing from one of the best! Rich will teach you about the different types of finish available to the woodworker and when to use them. You will learn about natural and man-made finishes, indoor and outdoor finishes, and the stains and dyes used to color your projects. You will get to use the knowledge learned in the class to take an average finish and turn it into a stunning surface! You will be amazed at the results you will be able to achieve on your next finishing project.

Turning Fundamentals with Michael Roper

Overview: Begin your woodturning adventure with an award winning turner Michael Roper. He will cover everything you need to know so come prepared for a lot of information. Among the subjects covered will be nomenclature, wood orientation, equipment, sharpening techniques, spindle turning techniques, shaping methods, stance and safety at the lathe.

Woodworking 101 - Bookshelf with Tracy Gray

Date:  Saturday, December 10, 2016

Time:  9AM - 1PM

Overview: This is a two day class -Sat & Sun, 12/10 & 12/11. Learn the basics for all your future woodworking projects. On the first day, you will learn to safely use the jointer, planer, table saw, miter saw, and router. You will learn at least one method of joinery and will leave the next day with a beautiful small bookcase. Completion of this course will prepare you to move on to using the shop for more advanced projects. A $75 materials fee covers wood, screws, equipment, glue, etc.

Turning Bowls with Bruce Perry

Date:  Saturday, December 10, 2016

Time:  9AM - 4PM

Overview: Woodturning a bowl class is designed to provide all the information and basic skills needed to turn a wooden bowl. Students will learn about sources and selection of wood, wood grain, and how they relate to bowl design and project success. Bowl blank preparation, safely securing it for turning on the lathe, personal safety, and tools will also be covered. Whether your goal is to turn functional bowls for the dinner table or decorative art pieces, the skills learned here will get you on the path to success.
