Introduction to the Lathe With Charlie Mossey

Date: February 13, 2016

Overview: Charlie will teach you how to operate the lathe as well as safety and cleaning and lubricating your lathe.

Pen Turning  with Ron Reichel

Date: March 3, 2016

Time: 6pm - 9pm

Overview: You will learn the basic techniques required to set up, drill, turn and finish a bolt action pen. Students should provide their own safety glasses, apron and tape measure.

Creative Woodturning with Charlie Mossey

Date: March 12, 2016

Time: 1pm - 5pm

Overview: In this introductory class to woodturning students will learn the basics of spindle turning featuring Rockler carbide tools. You will have the opportunity to turn 1-3 handles for either ice cream scoops, Pizza cutter or Bottle openers. Students should provide their own safety glasses or face shield.

Basic Box Making - with Jim Hannah

Date: March 26, 2016

Time: 1pm - 5pm

Overview: In this class everyone will construct a small Jewelry box featuring the Rockler Box joint jig. Basic woodworking techniques including safety using the table saw, chop saw and planner will be covered. Students should provide their own safety glasses, apron and tape measure.

Cutting Board Making

Date: April 2, 2016

Time: 1pm - 5pm

Overview: In this class students will learn the basic woodworking skills to create a custom cutting board featuring one of our New Cutting Board kits. Glue and clamping techniques will be covered as well as basic operation of a planner, scraping and sanding techniques. Students should provide their own safety glasses, apron and tape measure

Skill Level: Beginner/Intermediate

Bird House Making with Ode Norberg

Date: April 7, 2016

Time: 6pm - 9pm

Overview: This class will teach you ways you can build you own custom Bird House. You will learn to use the table saw, drill press and different hand tools. Students should provide their own safety glasses, tape measure and apron.

Skill Level: Beginner/Intermediate

Class Fee: $35




Bowl Turning with Gene Breault

Date: April 16, 2016

Time: 1pm - 5pm

Overview: This class will go over the basic design and techniques for turning small bowls with the use of carbide turning tools. Different methods of mounting your stock using face plates and chucks will be covered in this 4 hour class. We will also cover basic finishing techniques on the lathe. Students should provide their own safety glasses or face shield and apron. All materials will be provided for turning one bowl. More bowl blanks will be available if time permits.

Skill Level: Beginner/Intermediate

Class Fee: $60




Bookcase Construction with Jim Hannah

Date: April 24, 2016

Time: 9am - 4pm

Overview: From the Woodworkers Journal magazine here is a very popular bookcase design that you will build in this class. You will learn basic woodworking skills using the table saw, pocket hole jigs, routers and other portable woodworking tools. Safety will be covered on all tools so you have a feeling of comfort when working with any of these tools. Students should provide their own safety glasses, tape measure and apron. Class size 6.

Skill Level: Beginner/Intermediate

Class Fee: $100
