Carving For Beginners - with Kris McCartan

Date: September 28,  2014

Time: 12pm - 3pm

Overview:  Learn how to select and use basic carving and hand tools. Class size is limited to 5 students. Both relief carving as well as an introduction to spoon carving will be discussed.

Skill Level: Beginner

Getting Started with Turning - with Chuck Myers

Date: October 19,  2014

Time: 12pm - 3pm

Overview:  Lecture and Demonstration.  Learn how to get started turning on a lathe.  The class includes information on how to choose a lathe, safety procedures, various turning tools, stock selection and preparation and turning procedures for spindle turning, bowl turning, lidded boxes, pen turning and other projects.

Skill Level: Beginner

Marquetry & Inlay Basics - with Kris McCartan

Date: October 26,  2014

Time: 12pm - 3pm

Overview:  Learn the basics of marquetry and inlay. Tool selection as well as various techniques will be discussed.

Intro to CNC Shark - with Dan Brown

Date: November 2,  2014

Time: 12pm - 3pm

Overview:  Learn the basics of the CNC Shark using V-Carve Pro, from creating vectors from scratch and importing pictures to carve to tool path options.  To get the best out of the class students should bring their own laptop and have a current version of V-Carve Pro. Class size is limited to 5.
