Brought one of these units quite a few years ago. The main support for the unit is made of plastic. When the first one broke I thought maybe it was just a defective piece. Well, the second one now broke as well. I'm now looking for something which is a bit stronger. (My wife loads up the Lazy Susan) If you are just looking for a lite weight solution then this will work for you.

Challenging to install, but nothing unexpected. I used a Phillips bit driven by a ratchet and socket combination to form a 90deg ratcheting screwdriver, which worked very well. The screws are very poor quality, as others have alluded to, and I did break one head off while tightening. I suggest not tightening them too much - it is not really necessary anyway. We are happy with the results.

I could not have been happier with these doors. We had a local company build other cabinets, but they went out of business before the last set of doors were completed. With the options available I was able to match all the profiles. Not having to fill and sand made the finishing a breeze. The oak was clean and had beautiful grain. Both doors were the exact size I ordered and were packed incredibly well. This is a fantastic product.

At 73 this is my first furniture project that didn't include bricks and boards. Oak veneer plywood, and 1"X 2" solid oak was used with a chestnut stain and several coats of Minwax poly-urethane. Between the included written instructions and the DVD it all worked out very well. The bed functions effortlesly and blends well with the room; saves a lot of space; and is more attractive than the twin bed it replaced. An old "skill" saw, drill, and sawhorses comprised the "shop". Not quite up to Norm's This Old House standards but it can be done. Measure 10 times; cut with great trepidation. Watched the DVD many, many, many times.This project can easily (slowly) be done by one person with enough clamps and ingenuity. May do a queen size vertical next!
