Fantastic construction as is expected of Hafele. Be careful, though, if you are thinking you will put the 24" unit in a 24" cabinet. Maybe it is just me, but I assumed wrongly that the 24" unit was deigned to fit in a 24" cabinet would contract like Hafele's drawer ironing board. It does not. However, you can disassemble the cross-rods from the extension slides, cut the rods, and re-assemble - in my case, to make a 21" wide unit that would slide out between the rails of the face frame on my 24" cabinet. Note that you lose 3" of width which makes it so the hanging bags are a little "bunched," but it still works much better than going with the 18" and furing it out.

Review 1 of 1:
I had this ironing board installed in my custom-built closet organizer. I can't comment on installation since I did not do it myself. I can comment only on its function. The board is very convenient for ironing clothes. It opens and closes smoothly and the swivel allows me to use is in the space I have. The board doesn't feel very solid out towards the front, but given the design of the board I expected this. It took some getting used to not to be able to press down hard with the iron - and with a good iron you don't need downward force anyway.

I love this product, it is very customizable and user friendly. I'm happy to see Rockler carrying this item. I have installed several of these for customers. The Murphy door hardware is extremely well built and heavy duty. I love it!

Looks great but the screws are way too long. I know it is used primarily for a coat rack but I want to ude it on a 3/4" piece of Oak attached to the wall to make a triple coat rack. They are 1 1/2 inches, just too long and they are set to far apart for both the be able to be driven into a wall stud.

I bought this kit last summer, and the kit works EXACTLY as advertised. Just a word of warning - read the directions through fully BEFORE starting this project and make sure you're following every step in order. If you do you will have a murphy bed and not a "Murphy's law" project you can be proud of.

I wish I had never bought it. I've used it a number of times and the setup time is ridiculous. The plastic guides had to be forced into alignment. The instructions were disjointed and hard to follow. I finally got so digusted, I destroyed it. "Buy the best you can afford" is the motto here. I should have read the magazine reviews earlier!

First Time I have used a sprayer and it works great. Key is mixing the paint and get the correct viscocity . I used latex and also added Floetrol and then strained the paint to get any lumps out Do not put the coats on thick better to put on a thin uniform coat and then a second coat etc Very surprised how smooth the finish is I am guessing part of that maybe the Floetrol. Much better then brushing Sorry I hadn't purchased on of these years ago enjoy

The Lid-Stay Torsion Hinges sound like a great idea and the sales clerk at Rockler assured me they were the ultimate solution for my Grandson's toy chest. But I can tell you nothing in this life is ever as simple as all that. The big problem is that the very thickness of the hinge body necessitates the use of a chisel to bring the lid down to a flush position. Furthermore the 2 30 pound hinges I bought would NOT hold the lid from dropping from a 30 degree position even though the lid was way less than 30# Needless to say it took me way longer than a few seconds or even a few minutes to install!
Editor's note: Mortising of these hinges in not required. Mortising of hinges to bring bottom of lid tight to top of box has the potential for unnecessary binding.
