I just bought this so-called precision machined drill chuck, and I am very disappointed. Not sure who's standard of precision we're going by, but it looks like it was made by a half blind 3rd grader. First, the jaws don't open up at all when you unscrew the finely machined brass knob. After removing the knob completely and taking a look, it appears that the four jaws are all different sizes. I managed to pry them open far enough to insert the #65 bit, but have been unable to tighten the chuck down and keep the bit straight.

Bits are good and drill fine... but the set is missing the 1/2" size which for me is the MOST used bit. I think this is why the set is being sold so cheap. Editor's note: Bits are 3/8", 5/8", 11/16", 13/16", 7/8" and 15/16" sizes.

Made in China..the size isn't even stamped on it to refer to when using. It does function though but I wouldn't guarantee that for a long time. I think you will be replacing or sharpening it soon. I wouldn't buy another one of this quality again.

I want to add my 2 cents that the chuck here is very poor. The fabrication process and/or design does not let the three jaws move together, thus bits that are chucked up wobble...a lot. The small bit sizes are used for fine, precise work, but you won't get it with this chuck. I suppose one shouldn't expect much at this price.

Bought this product so I could chuck a 1/16 inch bit in my drill press. There is no way this chuck will hold a 1/16 inch bit and keep it straight. Very poor design.
