From $6.19 (Average rating from all reviews) Review 1 of 66: Blum face frame hinges are excellent--standard for products sold by Rockler. Installation instructions could be improved. The hinge has cams beneath the screw heads for minor alignment alteration. This is not mentioned in any instructions. In fact the package for each hinge pair mentioned a "...slide arm..." which this hinge does not have. The hinge is one piece construction. Once this is known further installation in replacement situations is straight forward.

The Lid-Stay Torsion Hinges sound like a great idea and the sales clerk at Rockler assured me they were the ultimate solution for my Grandson's toy chest. But I can tell you nothing in this life is ever as simple as all that. The big problem is that the very thickness of the hinge body necessitates the use of a chisel to bring the lid down to a flush position. Furthermore the 2 30 pound hinges I bought would NOT hold the lid from dropping from a 30 degree position even though the lid was way less than 30# Needless to say it took me way longer than a few seconds or even a few minutes to install!
Editor's note: Mortising of these hinges in not required. Mortising of hinges to bring bottom of lid tight to top of box has the potential for unnecessary binding.

Bought these hinges to replace the broken cheap original ones on my keyboard tray. I was so happy with the time it took to receive the hinges. I ordered them on the 7th and I received my package on the 9th with standard shipping! I easily installed them this morning and they are a perfect fit. They are a little more expensive, but a good quality, and I feel they are well worth the money for my former frustration of using my keyboard tray. I'm sorry I put off buying them. Simple little things, like properly working hinges can make more of a difference than we think.

It's a nice concept, but the design of the hinges are poor. You shouldn't have to mortise twice to allow the hinge to swing freely. And even though you do, the hinge still doesn't remain totally flush when opened. The screws are cheap and tend to strip. For the price & headaches, I rated them fair. I would have to think long and hard before I bought these hinges again.
