I just received my work sharp knife sharpener today. It works just the way it is advertised. I was a meat cutter for 25 years and we used a belt sharpener to sharpen out knifes. The only problem is that the hobart sharpener that we used cost about $450.00 dollars. I could not afford to spend that much to sharpen the knifes around our house. The work sharp sharpens the knife just as fast as the more expensive unit and is very easy to use. Even someone who has never sharpened a knife can put an edge on the knife just like a pro.

The WS 3000 is a shortcut to tool sharpening that has greatly upgraded my hand tools. I blend the docking features and free hand work to achieve different results for my chisels and plane blades. I would have liked to receive the wide blade attachment and the leather honing disc with my purchase of the unit as they are essentials, but the sticker shock would prevent a lot of buyers so I understand why they are secondary purchases. You will need the wide blade attachment, this is worthless for plane blades with out that.

I usually don't do reviews, but the Work Sharp 3000 has made my life so much easier. I used to do the paper on glass method and found it time consuming while re-honing during a project. This machine is awesome. It does exactly what it says and with super results. I get a better edge on my tools with much less time. Definitely worth the $$$. Easy to use and doesn't take up much space. I highly recommend this machine.

After sharpening 2 sets of Delta 12 1/2 blades found as much as .007 difference from end too end, use 3/8" plate glass for the sand paper. Double checked everything such as sure planer blade was bottomed out in slot. Good idea but needs perfecting.

If you are like me and any thing and every thing you own that has an 'edge' must be sharp to the max, you need this tool. The T-3 is an excellent sharpening tool for everything. I believe the T-7 is just the more heavy duty professional model to be used every day for commercial sharpening. This is the same basic tool but without a cast iron case and it comes with a few less jigs. Which can be bought separately. I received this from my wife as a gift and I have already sharpened everything I can with the accessory jigs it came with. I am now waiting for several additional jigs to use with all other my shop sharpening. The previous review mentioned, "The only thing it can't do is flatten the sole of a plane." But it can! The instructions mention you can use the flat side...

I bought the TORMEK T-7 for my Christmas present so I could sharpen my lathe tools. I had so much fun I sharpened all my chisels and finally my jointer knives. I started looking for things to sharpen. I even called my friend and told him I wanted to sharpen his carving tools. I heartily concur what everyone else said. It may be a little expensive but you won't regret buying it. My tools have never been sharper. I do recommend buying the turntable you will get tired of picking it up and turning it around.
