These are beautiful, quality hinges with a price to match. Ditto other comments about the quality of the screws, but the hardware store came through. I made an MDF template with two cutouts so that I could rout both mortises on the box and finsh them with a chisel with one setup before doing the lid. Everything fit great, except for one minor issue. I mortised the hinges flush to the side of the box, and because of the square edges of the hinge, the rotating corners dig into the wood. I cut out a small amount of wood for clearance and all was fine. Alternatively, you could set the barrel of the hinge proud of the edge of the wood, like in the picture posted by one of the reviewers.
