I've tried several of the bullet pen kits and had issues with all of them. This kit is well priced and easy to assemble. I do wish they would come out with a Brass colored kit though.
I made a few of these...

I made a few of these kits and showed them to a customer at work that is a gun enthusiast. He bought all five on the spot and called me back that afternoon and ordered five more. He's bought twenty from me so far now. He gives them out to his gun friendly customers as thank you gifts. These kits turn quickly since you're only turning one piece. You can make two pens from just one pen blank. The barrel is substantial in size so even the slightly transparent acrylics haven't been a problem. They assemble easily too. The only thing I can think of that I would consider a negative is the rifle shaped clip. It is so big and wide I feel like it limits how much shape I can put into the barrel. I feel like I can only turn a cylindrical barrel, If I make the barrel fatter in the middle it make the rifle stick out awkwardly. I wish they would offer this kit with a plain clip, maybe a curved one like the cigar pens have

Description indicates that it is meant to replicate a .30-06 round, yet the finial has "5.56" inscribed around the primer, which is equivalent to .223, not .30-06. Further, the double twist transmission slips on the sleeve, failing to extend and retract the refill about 75% of the time on both of the sets I have made. I would not recommend this kit to anyone. A pen should write and 3/4 of the time this one will not, a kit presented as .30-06 should be marked as such and this one is not. This last would be an issue even described as a replica 5.56 or .223, because the diameter of the casing is far too large. Poorly conceived, poorly executed.
