Produce square cuts and keep the rail flat with the Rockler Rail Coping Jig.

Overview

The Rockler Rail Coping Jig clamps the rail securely in place so there's no chance the stock will wander out of the cut during operation. Use the Rockler Rail Coping Jig for rail and stile doors of cabinets, windows and more to make clean cope cuts without blowouts - perfect for narrow cross-grain rail cuts. If you're after a cabinet door jig, look no further!

Simply align material flush with the outside edge of the guide block and lock into place with the post handle hold-down clamp and positionable locking knob. Abrasive strip locks the workpiece in place to avoid shimmy or movement. Run the jig along the fence until you cut into the 1" hardwood guide block, which eliminates tear-out.

  • Allows you to easily make cuts on the ends of rail doors.
  • Guide block is easily replaceable to accommodate different profiles.
  • Durable phenolic material base measures 7-7/8" wide x 13-1/2" long.
  • With ergonomic handle for excellent control and comfortable grip.
  • Post handle hold-down clamp allows for quick repositioning.
  • When using the Coping Sled for the first time, your bit will be cutting a small rabbet in the phenolic base. This is normal and required to minimize tear-out for all future cuts.

Very good, safe design. Width of workpieces is limited to under 4". Also note that when the router bit cutting length is greater than the thickness of the workpiece, you may need to shim the workpiece so the router bit can clear the sled. Easy work around-not an issue with the design.

Gosh but this jig saved me lots of trouble with the wood moving slightly and avoiding the bit dip. It also worked great with smaller styles and rails. I fixed the bit eating the base by raising the bit a bit. Great time and wood saver.
