Overview

Similar in principle to our original Sure-Hook™ 360°, this universal hanger features a versatile screw-mount that attaches to almost any workpiece. It mounts easily to doors, spindles, panels and more for the ideal spray finishing setup.

The Sure-Hook™ Universal Mount's mounting assembly, or screw column, measures exactly 1" long, making it simple to gauge what length of screw you should use.

Additional features:

  • Rotates workpiece 360° for complete finishing from one spot.
  • Holds panels and spindles in ideal vertical position.
  • Retaining ring in mounting assembly holds loose screw in place, ready to go.
  • Leads to perfect application — no fingerprints or dents from nail-boards.
  • Great for drying.

Specifications:

  • Hook opening: approximately 1-1/16" wide
  • Recommended screw: #8 self-tapping (not included).
  • Swiveling mounting assembly measures 1" long (1-1/2" screw will penetrate 1/2" into workpiece).

I purchased 2 dozen of these hangers and they worked great. They were all in new condition and surprisingly very beefy. I hung all 24 and they did as advertised. The trick is to have a glove on your non spraying hand and pivot and hold as needed with the protected hand. These hangers allowed me to complete my project days ahead of schedule.

I use these hooks routinely, primarily for spraying cabinet doors. They do pivot very easily, so you need to hold a corner to stabilize when spraying. More resistence on the swivel would be very helpful. The big advantage is allowing you to spray both sides of a cabinet door at the same time. It is important to use the proper screw to insure a tight fit or the hook will detach in use. My biggest complaint is that Rockler does not advise of a weight limit for the hooks. I had a heavier door break the metal hook and fall to the floor. This cracked both rails and necessitated rebuilding the doors with new rails. I now use 2 hooks for heavier parts. You cannot pivot with 2 hooks, but it is easy to lift the hooks and turn the part around.

Paul T from Seaford, VA Posted September 4, 2009
The product works well, but work piece tends to rotate or pivot when the force of the spray hits the piece necessitating taping the hook to prevent this. The solution is just to pinch wide painter's tape over the entire hook assembly. It prevents the pivoting and keeps the hooks clean!
