multiple passes neededPosted April 7, 2014
Cutting the whole "T" in one pass is too much material removal for a single pass, and if you think about it you can't make multiple dropping passes where you have an undercut bit. So there is the need to remove the slot material first and no cutter on the minor diameter. And for the depth of 3/8" slot you need, it's probably a good idea to make two passes to cut that slot as well, the first at half depth, the second at full depth. These specialty bits take a bit more planning than simple bits but the result is worth it.
