Overview

The Rockwell VersaCut Circular Saw packs the power of a much larger saw into a one-handed tool that cuts wood, flooring, plastic, tile, slate, and metal. With blades sized at just over 3", it can't be beat for making small plunge cuts in the middle of a sheet, and unlike similar saws, it is designed to cut material thicker than 1". The rear-mounted motor balances the weight nicely and the slim silhouette is easy on the hands. Comes equipped with laser guide technology so you'll cut right to the line, every time.

Great saw! Fisrt saw I reach...

Great saw! Fisrt saw I reach for. I cut 3\4 MDO like a hot knife threw butter. I love the plunge cut feature. easy dept setting. I used my shop vac with the versa cut and there was no dust at all. If you have ever cut MDO you know how much dust there is. Great Saw!

I only gave it a three...

Harold S from Ft. Myers, FL Posted February 8, 2012
I only gave it a three as that is an average between the things I love about it and the things I hate about it. It is very handy and very comfortable to use. It is light and well balanced and cuts deep enough for all but 2 x 4 lumber. Now the things I hate. The plunge spring is very still and it is very awkward to press down on the tool hard enough to plunge to full depth. This leaves you with stock that is only grooved rather than cut and going back to recut it to full depth is a giant pain. Exerting enough pressure to obtain full plung and move through the stock results in a wavy cut. It's maddening enough to be a deal breaker for me. If I could find a way to defeat the plunge mechanism and leave the blade at full depth, say by wrapping a wire tie around the plunge mechanism, it would be the perfect saw. If you have a chance to try before you buy, then I would suggest bit. Otherwise consider wisely.
