The bits have taller carbides to produce thicker rail ends or stile thinks cuts, see height of opposite cutter carbid

Plan on building kitchen cabinet doors with this set. Will this fit 1/4" thick piece of plywood nicely? Guess I'm just wondering if there will be too much "rattle" since 1/4 plywood isn't actually 1/4" thick?

Yes it's setup for 1/4" grove. Use "space balls" to get rid of the rattle, I'm sure you can find them on the rockler website. Good luck hope that helps!

Can I use this set with 7/8" stock ?
Mark E
on Jun 30, 2017
BEST ANSWER: i typically use on 3/4 stock. It has a 1" cutting height. so I would say yes. As always use you feather boards to hold material securely to the fence as well as to the table. anytime I am doing stock larger than 3/4" I use my shaper table with 3/4" shanks.

I don't see why not. I set mine up on a router table so the extra 1/8 inch would be on the back leg.

Both bits worked well. It was much easier to swap bits, rather than re-arrange cutters when switching from rails to stiles. The measuring block also made height adjustment a no-brainer.

Building Doors
I had to make fourteen (14) doors for a combination storage and home theater cabinet. The rail and stile bits from Rockler worked flawlessly. I used the set up Jig and was ready to produce doors in minutes. . I did all the stiles first and then the rails and they fit perfectly together. Very happy with this purchase. I no longer fear building doors.

Nice set
This set of rail and style bits worked great for making the doors for a kitchen cabinet and were a direct match to the factory doors in the rest of the cabinetry. They cut red oak easily and without burning.

These were my first set of door making bits. I thought set up would be more difficult, but a few test cuts were all that was needed. Don't bother with buying set up bars, it is to easy to set these bits up. I look forward to buying more Rockler profiles. Great bits!

These bits work great. After reading a lot about making doors, I decided I would give it a shot. The first set on scrap was very close and the second set on the project wood was perfect! The setup gauge is a definite time saver and a recommended co-purchase.

I had a project which required a custom built cabinet that had to match the existing store bought cabinets. The Rockler bit set was an exact match for the stile and rail layout I needed. The bits were of excellent quality and made the project go very smoothly with superb results.

Router Bits
This is the first time using these type of bits. I will be making all new kitchen cabinet doors and drawer faces. I made a couple of sample cuts and they worked just as I hoped they would. I hope they will stay sharp after cutting thru many feet of Maple. Delivery was fast.

The bit set worked fine, cuts...
The bit set worked fine, cuts matched and cut smooth. However, I am mystified why there is a bearing on these bits as it can never touch the wood for 3/4" door stock.Editor's note: The bearing on these bits is only used when running against a template for making a curved shape such as the top of arched top door. For straight cuts one guides against the router table fence and the bearing contact is therefore not needed for straight cuts.
