Overview

Just voted Popular Mechanics Magazine Editor's Choice Award for 2011!

The one drawback to the ubiquitous and incredibly useful "sawhorse workbench" is that it almost always suffers from saddleback. But these nifty brackets from Rockler are an instant cure - just slip them onto the sawhorses and add two 2x4's in any length you desire to create a strong, stable base. Or you can add a sheet of plywood as a top for a sturdy, portable assembly table or for job-site work tables. A simple tool with virtually limitless possibilities. Includes screws to secure brackets to 2 x 4s. Sized for use with 2x4 sawhorses. Steel. Patent pending.

I use the sawhorse supports to make a "torsion box" work support for breaking down sheet goods with a "track saw". Yes, one does have to be careful "lining-up" the cut so that you don't cut into the steel support - but it's much easier to set-up and use the sawhorse supports than making a conventional "torsion box" work support completely out of wood. I use these along with the "Trojan Sawhorse Legs" which make for a great work support system. The "system" can be easily broke down and stored, parts of the system can easily be replaced with new 2 x 4s, and I can just take the parts of the "system" the sawhorse legs and sawhorse supports and go to another location and make a whole new "system" very easily and quickly with other 2 x 4s. One just has to be careful not to saw into the sawhorse supports - that quickly causes blade replacement.

This is a very practical and efficient way to make a workspace in a hurry. Cost is also very reasonable.

I needed extra space for the finishing process on some cupboards. I grabbed my saw horses and some scraps from my junk pile and within 10 minutes I had my table. It worked great.
