Brass Flat Screws
Posted November 8, 2014
I use these screws for attaching hinges on decorative boxes. There are no complaints about the screws. They are a great addition to a project. To be safe from soft brass breakage, or messing up the screw head, I recommend using a steel screw to cut threads before inserting the brass ones.
This ice chest was put back...

This ice chest was put back together after falling out of a pick-up truck doing 75 mph. One whole leg (Right-Front)and most of the doors along with some of the face frame was missing and had to be made from new white oak pcs. I also had to cut out some bad spots in the left front leg and cut pcs and glue back together to make it look like it was original. I had to buy all new Screws for the hinges so I bought Solid Brass Screws from Rockler and verry happy that I did, they made the end result even better. I must say, this was the best "Jig-Saw Puzzle" I had ever put together, this Ice Chest belongs to a lady who's dad made it for her long ago, so she had asked me to try and keep as much of the old as possible. It was a chore not knowing how at first it was when it was brought to me in many tiny pcs, but fun as a challenge.
