I have used these hinges on 3 different jewelry boxes. They are great. Solid, and sturdy construction. Easy to install. They are a little pricey, but worth it.

I have been using these hinges in all sizes for many years now, LOVE them. I also see that the reviews here cover several years and that no changes have been made in the quality of the hinges provided, even though this has been the main complaint. My recomendation, get used to them, use the remedies of others or buy better screws. I still solve the problem by drilling slightly larger pilot holes and using 5minute epoxy. Ive never had the screws fail or even loosen over time and they are still removable. It seems such a small inconvenience for such a quality hinge.

I notice a lot of comments about the screws that come with this product being not much good. I dare to say that the problem lies with the installer and not the screws. If you drill a proper size pilot hole, put a little dab of paste wax or soap on the screw and most importantly, use the "proper" size of phillips head screwdriver, you should have good results. I use them in walnut with no problem.
