This pen is a money maker!

Charlie Posted August 27, 2014
I love this pen! The price is great, it's easy to turn, looks awesome with any wood ( even antler), also sells well. The first show I did after starting to make these pens, I sold enough to cover the cost of all the kits we bought. I was a little leery at first with the negative reviews, but I was satisfied with the quality of the kit, the components worked well for me. Fit and finish was great as well. I have turned and sold over 1000 different pens, so I consider myself somewhat of an expert. Thanks Rockler.

pen bushings don't fit the tube

Jeffrey Posted August 12, 2014
When I tried to slide the lower tube on the mandrel, it won't fit over the bushing. I tried either end and even filed the brass tube, thinking it had an inside burr, but no it won't fit. I do not recommend this kit, no matter how low priced it is. I bought five thinking it would make nice gifts. Very disappointed!

threads strip

Edward Posted July 27, 2014
You cannot tighten it - the threads are too shallow and the top then will not stay on after you have tightened it several times -- even if not too tightly.
