Helpful Accessory for router and circular saw cutsPosted November 24, 2013
The problem with most edge guides is that you have to calculate the offset from the cut line to the edge guide. This is a hassle and can lead to out-of-square cuts.
This squaring attachment, along with the Emmerson guide and your hardwood strips allows for easy, precise measurements. You install thin hardwood strips to the squaring attachment, and the first router or circular saw cut marks where the blade will cut. Then simply align the hardwood strip with your cutline, and you will get an accurate cut without measuring offsets.
I made one side of the hardwood strip for the router and a 1/2" bit, and the other side for my circ. saw.
Short of a dedicated track saw, there is no easier or more accurate way to cut with your circular saw.
Great for precise router dados too.
