We have had significant problems with the stick on pads sliding off, perhaps because the chairs are heavy. We chose these because (1) the pads were not stick on and (2) one review said they had used this type for 10 years with no problems, alleviating my concern that the round sleeve might damage the bottom of our rather expensive chairs. Also you had the light colored glides which pretty much match our chairs.

Should I drill in a starter hole for these? It seems like the metal would collapse while trying to drive them into a hard wood.
A shopper
on Jul 4, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I simply drove them in with a hammer as directions said. My chairs were oak so I had concerns but they went in smoothly. The edges are sharp enough to allow the ring to cut into the wood. Having the wood inside the ring supports the glide which it could not do if you drilled a starter hole. I would buy and use again.

BEST ANSWER: They are really good quality. We use them on wood floors at a restaurant and they last around a year with high volume use. The felt is attached to plastic so when it wears down they won't scratch the floor. Tap in easily and I pry them out with a flat head screwdriver or vice grip. They are also nice that they don't get rocks stuck in them because of the type of felt so also won't scratch your floor. Best of 3 different brands I've used.

Best choice for wood legs on wood or tile floors
Best choice for wood legs on wood or tile floors. Adhesive felt glides don't stick well to end grain. Be sure to have the walls of the metal ring exactly parallel to the wood grain, so it goes in straight and doesn't crush.
Eventually, the felt will wear and the glide will need to be replaced. This is easy if you place the metal ring in the same slot cut by the original glide.

Chair glides installed easily and working well.
The glides installed easily and are working well. I was concerned that some of the glides would become damaged when tapping them on to the bottom of the chair legs, but I installed glides on 6 chairs and not a single glide became damaged. It has been a month since I put them on and all are working well. I am guessing they may last a year or more, which is about 10 months longer than the self adhering felt pads I have been using.

So Far-So Good
These seem to work as advertised and way better than anything I've used before. No problems what so ever so far...on a new plank tile, not slick, kitchen floor.
Would highly recommend to others.

Impressive
Replacement stock for upcoming projects. I used these multiple times and did not think much of them at first but they work great and are easy to install.

Sturdy Glides
My wood chairs really needed glides on my tile floors. I found these to be pretty easy to tap in and thus far they seem very secure and likely to last a long time. It's made a huge improvement on my chairs no longer making noise when moved and is protecting the tile floor better.

Works well
Have had these installed on kitchen chairs over wood flooring for about 2 weeks and they seem to be working well. No scratches. I am curious how long they will last, but it's going to be the felt failing, not the adhesive. I have been fighting adhesive pads coming off and was looking for a mechanically attached glide. Easy to install. Bang bang, done.

Seem to work and easy to apply!
So far they are working better than any of the others I have tried. The others were stick on felt pads and " furniture feet"!

Worked great. Tapped in with no problems. Cuts right through wood. I bought the exact number I needed and everything worked out the first time.

Only problem was I needed a larger glide, but the biggest you offered was 1". Safeglides, the manufacturer, indicated on the packaging for my 1" product, that they also made 1.5"

Just what I was looking for.
I found just what I was looking for in your product.
To protect my floors from chair legs scraping and marking the floor, also it cuts down on noise from chair legs being pulled out to sit

Better than previous chair glides we've used
They were easy to install on the chair legs. Hopefully they will hold up better than the other types we have had on these chairs. We'll see!

Floor Saver
Our dinette chairs were marring the hardwood flooring. These not only stopped the marring but are so much quieter now. One note: One package does 4 chairs. I bought 4 packages because I didn't read carefully.

Great problem solver
Our floors are pine and therefore softer than hardwood. Other glides still scratch but these work great and no scratches. And so much better than the stick-on felt pads that we've been using for years. I've only had them a few weeks but so far we're very pleased.

Well designed
Install easily and appear to work quite well.
Do not slide off as the sticky pads do and do not appear to able to break down and damage floors as the ones attached with nails through them.

Glides for chairs
Great easy to use product. I should have bought these years ago. Self stick ones kept falling off every 6 months and attracted dog hair with the adhesive.

These Are the Best
So glad I found these online. Local hardware and Home Depot don't carry them. Only glides I've found that stay in place and really do protect wood floors as well as stopping annoying squeaks on tile. Wouldn't use anything else!

Tap in glides work very well
These glides are trouble free, and easy to install. I used to replace the self stick ones every few months. The tap in ones stay put and hold up well.
