Great for beginners (and those who didn't realize they were)!

I didn't know I've been sanding wrong for decades! I also thought you needed to sand with the grain, but Michael's trick of sanding across the grain at opposing diagonals as you increase in grit made my next sanding job three times faster! I think that was worth the price of the DVD alone. Just wished I'd viewed it years earlier.
comprehensive, illustrating best practices and inspiration

This video covers prep to finish. A great in depth look with tips that I can use on every project. I have tended to get into finishing process that I like and stay with it but now will apply this info into new projects. I also watched it with my teenage son who can see how much more can be done. If you want to learn and grow in your projects get this video. I actually watched the whole video to get a solid feel of it.
If today is your first day of woodworking, this video is for you...

This video is well made, but very very basic. When it started, I went directly to the chapter on rubbing out a finish expecting to find hints, tips, techniques, etc. Instead it was a two minute chapter telling us to "first sand the surface with 600 up to 1200 grit, then apply rubbing compound, then apply polishing compound, then apply swirlmark remover (that one they did demonstrate). There were some good things, but very beginner stuff.
