Trend T-4 Router

Fred Posted December 18, 2013
I love this tool. Buying a second for several reasons. I usually chose this router 1st from a stable of different tools when plunge cutting.

Pros: Light weight
Ample power for 3/8 mortises
Spindle lock is great for tool changes

Cons: O/O Switch can be "sticky"

A good buy

This is my second plunge router but the first light weight version and I like its versatility. I have done a couple of tests of rounded edge and a dado groove with the edge guide using the bonus bit. They look great to me. The plunge lock feels a little too stiff to me. The only thing that I can complain which has nothing to do with the tool itself is the tool case. One of the push lock next to the handle doesn't seem to align and when the case is locked there is a noticeable 1/8" gap on the side. Overall, I'm pretty happy with it.

Fair not great

I have half a dozen routers, switch was broken out of the box, manufacturer sent 2 replacements within a week. Router is okay, but not a first choice in my shop.
