Okay, could be easily improved

I have used a set of these clamps for a few years, and they are okay. To qualify as "great," two improvements are needed. First, the length of the part that holds the turnkey needs to be about an inch longer. The current length makes the clamp too close to the top of the fence, making for a less stable grip. Sometimes, the clamps want to slip off. In other words, the clamp needs to be closer to the center of the side of the fence rather than engaging near the top of the side. The second improvement would be to either add a rubber pad to the clamp for friction, or make it so the metal pad does not get stuck and turn as you tighten the thumb screw. The metal pad that clamps against the fence "tries" to turn with the screw, resulting in the clamp riding and sliding up and off the fence. The most important improvement is to lengthen the clamp so it does a better job centering on the side of the fence.

I have had mine for several years. I was very pleased with them until yesterday when I dropped one of them (no more than 3') and the handle shattered. Thought they were better quality. Anyway, I do like the clamps and ordered another set.

I got these to use mainly as an auxiliary fence for my router. As mentioned by some others they did not hold the aux. fence tight to the router fence, it would tip out on the bottom. I had to put them in a vise and give them a tap or two to get them to hold the fence flat and perpendicular to the table. I rate items as 5 if they are 100% usable out of the box, these did not meet that standard, but I expect them to be useful going forward.

I have had these clamps for a few years now, and thought I would do a review after I found out something lately. There are some flaws. First of all, the head on the clamp that is on the fence does not swivel. This makes for a few problems. It marks up the face of the fence, so bad that when I went to use a jig that rode on the fence, it wouldn't ride smoothly till I filed down all the burs. Second of all, tightening it down is a little difficult because of the non-swivel action of the head, and the fact that you have to have the bracket exactly perpendicular to the fence. All in all, I still enjoy this product. I think I will go adhere some felt/cork on the bottom of the head now to protect my fence.
