Been using Wooster brushes for years....

George C from Hometown, IN Posted July 31, 2013
Been using Wooster brushes for years. They last a long time, clean easily, hold and release a lot of material with fine control. They're great for Oil based paints and wood finishes. Work well with latex and other water-based finishes too. The "micro-tip" thing is real, not just a marketing gimmick. It impossible to understand what "tipping off" means until you do it with a fine brush. "Tip-off" with these one time, then you'll know. It's mesmerizing and fun! You can literally see your finish turn smooth as float-glass right before your eyes. When used with thinned poly finish on horizontal surfaces, these will lay down a self-leveling coat so smooth it takes only seconds to lightly hand-sand before final coats. I use these with minwax wipe-on poly, which is already thinned, then add 20% thinner to reduce drag and promote flow. Three coats of gloss, lightly scuff-sanded between each coat, delivers mirror-smooth results after polishing. No joke, you can read newspaper print in the reflection! The trick is to lay several perfect coats, and the tool you need for that is a great brush. These qualify. Except for the small and expensive Taklon artist's brushes, no commercial-sized paint brush I know of leaves a smoother top-coat. Glad to see Rockler stocking these. At this price, they are a bargain.
