Great seal but..

Don't get it dusty. Make sure your hose and fitting are dust free. And only peel away the plastic film as you go so it doesn't get dusty before you need it. I agree with Ross, I think they may mean you can seal 15 2" joints, definetely not 4" joints. Take your time as the tape binds to itself, it has a long open time before the bond is secure. I did the first wrap and waited until it bonded before finishing the remaining wraps and that eliminated the need for a third hand.

I had a lot of hope for these because my clamp connections kept popping off and did not make as tight a fit as I desired. Well, this may be a better solution than clamps, but it is not a simple procedure. It took four tries to get this tape to secure around a hose and the Dust Right Quick Release Handle secured. The heavy hose keeps wanting to pull away before you can get the tape securely tightened around these items. The first three times, the handle attachment just popped right out of the hose, and once you use the tape, you can't reapply it. The trick is to make sure that the hose is completely extended at the point that it goes around the connector that you are trying to attach. Keeping it extended as you secure the tape may require two people (one to keep the hose extended, the other to secure the tape) because dust collection hoses tend to retract. Regardless, it is not as simple as the image implies and it may take you a couple of tries before you figure it out. I have two connections secured now; we'll see how long they hold. You'll never get the number of connections that they promise on the package.

It's an interesting product and does everything it claims - it’s strong, it adheres to itself without adhesive, it seals, and comes off cleanly. However, it’s too narrow for its intended purpose, if you adhere to the instructions you use a great deal of product, and because it is not inherently sticky you sometime need three hands to use it, and if you want to seal piping mounted against a wall you’ll have to remove the pipe to wrap it around three times. After trying it with mixed success and some difficulty, I purchased foil heating duct tape and found it did the same job, less expensively, and without any of the difficulties I encountered.

This product is great-it seals and adheres very well-like others who reviewed this product, I agree you will use less than the instructions suggest-comes off without a mess-I will order this tape again-very pleased.

Having used several rolls of gaffa tape this product is god send. It seals very well and adheres to itself nicely. In my experience of it unless you need the extra width on the seal you do not need to cut as much as recommended for each join.
