This is a great little ruler....Posted September 16, 2013
This is a great little ruler. I'm buying some more for gifts. For one, I love the metric scale on one side. The metric system makes measurement math so much easier that fractional inches of the Imperial system. The scale marks appear to be engraved, they are nice and fine. I especially like the thick brass edges, about 1/8 inch high (even with both faces). The solid brass edging fastens to each edge of the hardwood ruler body by a tenon on it's back into a thin dado in the edge of the ruler. It appears and feels like a solid lock. The high brass edges are especially great for drawing a pencil or knife along the edge without cutting up the lead or knife edge. But, because the edges are high (not tapered like some rulers), marking or measuring a distance between the scale and your material, unless you turn the ruler on edge, is likely to cause some parallax and introduce some degree of inaccuracy into the endeavor. I believe you will find the ruler to be a welcome addition to you arsenal of rulers. Because the ruler is so good for drawing straight lines, I wish Rockler offered longer versions as well. At the present sale price, this little, quality ruler is a bargain.
