1" bushing for Rikon lathe
I started turning with a Rockler Excelsior mini lathe. Great lathe so I bought several Rockler tool rests which have a 5/8" shaft. Loved turning so much I purchased a Midi lathe from Rikon. Issue was it has a 1" opening on its tool rest. This sleeve saved the day. Slipped right on and away I went.

lathe tool rest insert.
I purchased the insert so that I could use the very good rests on my full size Delta lathe.
It works perfectly, and the quality is excellent.

Wonderful Adaptor
I recently bought a Nova DVR XP. All the tool rests I used with my Jet,, which I still have and use, had a smaller post than the 1" needed for the Nova. Now I can use all my old tool rests that I love with the Nova. The bushing has worked flawlessly so far and has saved me a lot of money. The Nova tool rests that came with the lathe were rather basic I recommend this bushing to anyone needing to convert their tool rest post to fit in a one inch banjo.

The Rockler lathe tool rests are easily the best buy you can get for your woodturning lathe. While my lathes have the 1/2" post, I wanted to get the 1" adapter for when I visit another turner's shop, do demonstrations, or teach. This way, I can use the Rockler tool rests with the hardened rod across the top.
Curt V on Feb 24, 2017
I bought this because I wanted more flexibility with my tool rest choices on the lathe.

How long is this adapter?
Steven D on Dec 12, 2015
BEST ANSWER: The shank from the bottom to the shoulder is 3.990 in / 101.346 mm. The shoulder is .125 in / 3.175 mm. The overall length including shoulder is 4.115 in / 104.521 mm. Actual O.D. Is .937 in / 23.799 mm, actual I.D is .673 in / 17.094 mm. The O.D. and I.D. Are to allow for a generous slip fit.
Hope this helps.

What is the size of the set screw? I did not receive any and need to purchase some.
