Exactly what I wanted /needed
In the wood shop I have a vacuum hose from my current shop vac and another from a previous shop vac. For ease, and reaching the corners, i wanted to couple the two hoses. The Rockler Splicer worked perfect.

2 1/2" Splicer gits er done
Using 2 1/2" vacuum hoses requires the ability to splice more than one at times and this splicer does the job well. Holds the hoses together allowing even the expandable hoses to be used.

After talking to a Rockler expert about a problem I was having connecting the 2.5" tool port to my shop smith and 12" compound miter saw because th 4" portion of the port was striking the saw and wouldn't let the 2.5" opening seat onto the saw he suggested this splicer to connect the two.

What is the actual INTERIOR diameter? The "Technical Details" says it is 2 -1/4". But the Technical Drawing says it is 2 -1/2". This makes a big difference. Which is it?
MikeLV on Nov 27, 2017
BEST ANSWER: ID is 2&1/4 as stated. Actual OD is 2&7/16. Fits 2&1/2 inch hose.
Would this fitting allow a direct connection (no additional hose required) between one of the 2 1/2" StableGates and the 2 1/2" Y-connector?

BEST ANSWER: If you are asking about the splicer it works great but I have moved the dust collection and now use gates and cut off hoses. The Y connection is the only way to go because it will not reduce the airflow as much. The gate is a different story had used it but it was not effective in about two weeks. Spoke with other wood workers and found they had the same problem. Went to the metal gate and have nothing but great success.
Hope this can help you make a more informed choose,
will this fit to the dust right universal small port hose?
David W on Jan 28, 2018
BEST ANSWER: It fits mine.
