For my use these are perfect
i use these because my wife snores like a sailor. These work good for me to get a good nights sleep. My local hardware store use to carry the but now doesn't. I think 3M maybe discontinuing them. The only place I can find them now is at Rockler. They cost a bit more and I have to drive further, but for now Rockler has them.

I had expected them to block out more shop noise. I have gone back to the kind that fit over the ears.

These earplugs are not as supple, soft and pliable as some others brands of earplugs.

If you are in any way concerned about what you're sticking in your ears you should be using throw-away plugs too. Have been using them since my Navy/CG days.

Having a new wood shop I know my ears need to be protected. 3M has a good reputation so I want to try these before any others.
