Adapting your dill to drive
Works great over my pilot and vix drill bits.

You can drill the hole with your drill bit, attach this over the bit to put in the screw with the proper driver tip.

If you don’t own one you don’t know what you’re missing. Whenever I use it people ask what it is and ask where they can get one.
This product is great. I don’t know how I lived without it.

Woodworking Experience:
It seemed like a good idea ... and it is!
I was purchasing some Insty tapered drill bits with countersink attachments that I needed for a project .In order to get my order expensive enough to qualify for free shipping, I was looking for something inexpensive to add. So, I added this sleeve without really having any idea of its purpose! When it arrived with the bits, I honestly had no idea "which end is up" or how to use it. So, I did some searching online, and finally learned.

The sleeve essentially means that if you are drilling countersunk holes and wish to insert screws as you go (say in order to hold a back panel in place) you do not need two expensive power drills. The sleeve quickly snaps right over (and encloses) the drill bit and countersink stop. The tip of the sleeve magnetically holds a screwdriver bit. So, you easily can switch between drilling and screwing without having to manipulate the chuck and with only a single power drill.. A $10 Insty sleeve is way cheaper than buying two drills, and frankly, is is less to lug around and more convenient to use. I now wonder how I managed to struggle along without it.

Good tool
Great product. Little pricey. Make sure to tighten up all the allen screws before using because they will loosen up, believe me, I own 4 of them.

one of the most helpful tools I own...the slip off/on sink and bit make difficult tasks, especially high on a ladder, easy and fast.
Don't leave home, without it...

Looking for the convenience of switching between drill bit and driver quickly. Buying a second drill is $100 or more. For $10 this is worth a try.

Is this drive extension compatible with Insty Bit Countersink Set 82701? That is an original set of Insty Bit countersinks from years ago that are still working well. Thanks.
Greg P on Jan 21, 2016
BEST ANSWER: No, the drive extension is not compatible with the countersinks. The depth collar on the countersink interferes with the extension.
Will this sleeve work with the insty bit G2575 pilot countersink set? I prefer straight bits rather than the tapered bits.
Tom S on Jan 16, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Don't think so. This Rockler sleeve is designed to fit Rockler centering and pilot bits. The G2575 doesn't appear to have the necessary 7-sided nut at the base of the bit (necessary to prevent sleeve from just spinning). Also, the sleeve is designed to slide over the top of the bit, so I think only if the G2575 matches the Rockler bits (in size and shape) would it work with this sleeve.
