The whole series of Rockler Dust-Right products seem to be very high quality and well made. More importantly, everything mates well with the appropriate products within the Dust-Right system. I no longer am trying to make do with cutting and taping fittings that almost fit. I have thrown it all out and gone to the Dust-Right system. Managing dust is now much more effective and fun!
Splicer worked perfectly on one side...needed a rubber 4" x 4" on the other to complete the splice. (both ends were to Rockler products. Still, I can now easily switch from planer to router table dust collection. Very pleased with the result.
This splice connector also fits perfectly into standard 4" PVC not the Schedule 20, but the more commonly available thick-walled PVC, making it an ideal way to step down from the PVC to a 4" flexible hose.
This is exactly what's needed for coupling my 4" flex hose sections together. I wasn't sure how well-suited this splicer would be because I thought there would be some variation in terms of the diameter of 4" hose supplied by different companies.
After buying the Quick Connect fittings and seeing how loosely the fit together I decided you use the splicer whenever I needed to hook up my table saw. Works get when you attach the hose with the clamps with the thumbscrews on them.
I got the splicer to fit into 4" clear flex hose and it works just as you would expect. It fits snugly into the flex hose, and since I move my hose from machine to machine as I go, I don't even use a clamp. I plan to set up a more multi machine system in the future, and will need more of these.
This works ok for connecting two (2) 4 inch diameter flex hoses together, but it does not fit into the end of 4 inch diameter PVC (waste pipe). To connect 4 inch diameter flex hose to 4 inch diameter waste pipe, I used Rockler 4'' Hose Connector for PVC Sewer Pipe (Item #: 38820)
Splicer I received (with SKU number I ordered) was sized for hose insertion into splicer. I needed to be able to insert splicer into hose as shown in catalog. Had to return and postage used most of what refund I will get.
I have (3) 4" hose sections that I'd like to have ends that can quickly connect/disconnect from the next hose in the line. Which part(s) are needed to make a quick splice in the line that can be disconnected easily and that section be stored for later use?
