good for table saw
I use this with table saw to provide two sources of dust collection. The larger diameter fits a bottom dust collection outlet and the smaller diameter is attached to the dust shroud. It works better than a single connection to just one of them.

I chose this product because I am in the process of putting together a Dust Removal System in my woodworking shop. It has been my experience that Rockler stocks good reliable components for that task. I chose to buy from Rockler because they go out of their way to help me when I need advice. They have been my "Go To Supplier" for the last seven years. I can always depend on their products to be of the highest quality, just like their customer service.

Is there an adapter to go from the 4 inch part of this to the dust right handle? I have the Y fitting on my table saw and want to be able to go from it to the floor sweep kit and that’s about it for now. Don’t want to have to rely on duct tape to make up the gap. The 4” fitting is really 3 7/8 and the dust right is way too big.

Will the 4" to 2" y connection fit 4" sch. 20 sewer pipe?
A shopper on Jul 25, 2015
BEST ANSWER: It should. I used mine on schedule 40 with no problems. FYI Pipe measurements are ID(inside diameter) schedule refers to the wall thickness. Tubing measurement is OD ( outside diameter).
what is length of fitting 42253?
gordo on Jan 7, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The overall length is 10"
will the 4" connect directly to my dust collector or do I need a fitting to bridge the gap?
Martin C on Jan 7, 2017
BEST ANSWER: If you're connecting a 4" hose to the dust collector with this, the hose will connect to the 4" OD end of the elbow, and the flexible rubber end with the two hose clamps should seal onto the 4" OD inlet to your dust collector.
What is the outside dia. of these fittings ? I plan to use them on pvc pipe with a inside dia. of 4 inches.
Larry on Sep 3, 2016
BEST ANSWER: OD on mine measures 3 and 7/8 + about 1/32 or a little more. The fit on PVC was very loose for me...I had to bulk up this fitting with layers of tape to get even a little friction. Once caulked, though, it was airtight and stable. I found this piece fit very readily onto metal 4" ducting with no finagling.
Looking to make the dust collection more efficient where the dust exits the saw at the bottom of the cabinet and junctions with the dust collection from the blade guard on top. Currently this connection is more of a "T" and in my thinking would be more efficient if it were a "Y". Anyone trying it here?
Dorald K on Sep 7, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I’m no physicist or flow dynamics engineer but in theory, there is less turbulence and more efficient airflow with Y vs T fittings. Whether, this single change in your system will make any noticeable change in your dust collection at the end of the 2.5in run at the blade guard will depend also on your dust collector, the lengths and resistance of each duct connected in the system.
Is this what I need to go from the Y to the dust right handle?
