I like them
I bought a couple of these and I really like them, they fit nicely on my bandsaw and table saw, quick and easy to install as long as you have some 4" hose clamps laying around

Fits perfectly on standard 4" connector
Because there is a flexible end on the gate and a fitted hose clamp slot this gate goes on perfectly. I put a gate on each end of a standard 4" 'Y' so that I could use each end going into my cyclone (CNC or Vacuum wand) .Taking the hose off my CNC to do cleanup was a pain so this solution resolved the problem. When I want to use the CNC, just that gate is opened else the gates are switched for cleanup. This way there is only one gate opened at a time going into the cyclone. Perfect!

Swivelling blast gate works great
I didn't think the swivelling nature of the blast gate would make a difference, but in my confined space, it did.

Reduce the amount of vacuum because without it may collapse the smaller hose and not stay connected to the portable tool. my collector has a Y so i can attach it to the unused part of the Y.

Will these fit the intake port on my Jet ? Item number is 58281.
Rick R on Jun 9, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Yes it will fit your Jet on one of the two 4" ports, but not the 6" obviously. Just make sure you're ordering Rockler #37825 which is the Tool Blast Gate as it has the rubberized union on one side to attach it to your tool or collector. The less expensive blast gates (#32020) would go between two 4" hoses but you need the rubberized union, or you'll have to buy a 4" union separately, so this is both the best deal and easiest way for you to attach a blast gate to your Jet JCDC-1.5
Does the gate close completely? I have purchased blast gates and some of them have a small opening at the end of the gate that still lets air get through, I want a gate that completely closes off!
Ricky T on Mar 6, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Hi Ricky
Yes it does close completely at first. But after a while the slot that the gate closes into fills up with debris and causes the gate not to close completely. Hope this helps.

Roger
What are the OD sizes on the gate?
Warren W on Sep 2, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The hose side is ID 3 5/8 in, OD 3 7/8 in. The rubber boot side is ID 4 in, OD 4 3/8 in.
What size screw clamp do i need for the rubber boot? Does a 4” work?
