Item #
56582
Rating:
86% of 100

This 7,500-Lumen 4' LED Shop Light is ultra-bright, long-lasting, and incredibly energy efficient. It makes an ideal lighting solution for shops, garages, laundry rooms and other work areas where task lighting is crucial. It's also an excellent upgrade for those expensive and fragile fluorescent tubes that flicker and fail all too quickly. Thanks to an LED life of 50,000 hours, the light can be left on for eight hours a day for over 17 years. No hum and no mercury for a safer, more environmentally-friendly lighting solution. Bright white light is very easy on the eyes, and comes to full-brightness the moment you turn it on, even in cold weather.

7500 watts Great!
I already have 4 8' tube lights in my shop, but at 70 yrs I just need more light. I went for the 7500wt on sale at Rockler and I really like it. Much brighter than anything I have used. I'm thinking on getting another while on sale. The attached A.C. cord should be longer, but I used the link cable included to make it long enough to reach the electric box. (yes you can use it for that if not linking another light) Very nice, but try and buy on sale!

Lights
What a fantastic addition to my shop in my basement. They give more light than I had expected from the old lights that I had. (Florescent Lights) I can see things that I'm working on so much better. What a great buy.

great
I only got 2 of these. Mostly got 4000 and 5500. 7500 is really bright. Not TOO bright, but the others are enough. I have workshop about 30x50'. I have tried to light it w 4' fluorescent fixtures. They hum and flicker. It takes about 30 or more to adequately light the space. And every couple weeks 1 or 2 bulbs quit and has/have to be replaced and that is big hassle. And every couple months a ballast goes bad so that is a hassle to replace the ballast or the whole fixture! Now I have replaced all those fluoro fixtures with LEDs either 4000, 5500 or 7500, with MUCH better light, no flicker, much less power usage, the LEDs will last almost forever, it's easy to use pull strings to light only the area I am using, etc.

Good Light Output
I bought two of these to light a work area in my garage. It works well for that. For me the 10' connection cord is much too long, but I bundled it and used a cable tie to fasten it to the ceiling. One of the two lights can take up to 15 seconds to come on. I don't really understand the delay - the other comes on in 1 to 2 seconds. So far it isn't an issue, but a bit annoying.

Not a great shop light
When it works, the light is just what I expected, but it has problems coming on when the switch is turned on. It my be effected by the cold in the garage, but the 4000 lumens light I bought works great.

I am replacing my florescent lights. I purchased some a few months ago a they work great. If they last as long as advertised it will be worth it.

My shop is very poorly lit and I want to light it up so I don't need spot lights which are cumbersome and always seem to be in the wrong place causing shadows

How does the first fixture in a linked run connect to service? A plug to an outlet or is it hard wired?
Jeffear on Dec 10, 2017
BEST ANSWER: It has a cord attached I think it is 6ft long, I had to use the included link cable to make it long enough to plug in the outlet
Can this light be hard wired?
Margaret G on Nov 23, 2017
How many bulbs in the fixture?
Rob Y on Dec 18, 2017
BEST ANSWER: No bulbs LEDs It's bright!
How many needed for 30’x40’ shop?
Hartwell M on Apr 6, 2018
BEST ANSWER: (addendum to previous answer) - instructions indicate you can only link three (3) fixtures
Can these be hard wired to a light switch?
Melanie S on Aug 31, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Yes, however I wired my switch into an outlet I mounted into the ceiling to give me more electrical flexibility. That way I controlled both the lights and other equipment power at the same time. Hope this helps.
Can these be hard wired to a light switch?
Melanie S on Aug 31, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I am not an electrician, but I can see no reason why not. I will be hard wiring a few of the ones I bought into an already existing circuit. I will be removing the old fluorescent fixtures so I don’t ov else ad the circuit.
Are these lights dimmable?
Gene_ on Jul 31, 2018
BEST ANSWER: They cannot be dimmed, but I have found not reason to dim them. They are quite bright but there is no glare. I have three in a 12 x 12 wood shop and am very, very pleased.
Can these be hard wired to a light switch?
Melanie S on Aug 31, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Yes they could, cut the end off and wire to switch just like normal building wire.
