Stretchers
Quick stand building, sturdy strong

Stand stetchers.
The variable lengths of stand stretches make the stands themselves very functional and adaptable. Currently supports a new CNC Shark router set up which is very heavy. The table is very sturdy and supports the machine with no problem. I substituted the solid post feet on the table for wheels so I can move it around and it works well.

Great Product
These shop stand components are the best product - meeting the minimum requirements of Form, Fit and Function and then going beyond and providing both Style and Beauty to my workshop components which complements and inspires my efforts to achieve woodworking art in the workshop. I wish I could attach a picture of my workbenches to demonstrate what I mean.

These stretchers, coupled with the associated shop stand legs, assemble into a very sturdy work table or bench. I have a number of these in use for items such as a bench planer, a miter saw, drill press, etc.

The one problem with these stretchers (and their legs) is that you can't build up multi-bay benches because the pre-punched holes for the carriage bolts used to assemble them are not laid out in a pattern that will allow the stretchers to be bolted into place so as to span between benches constructed of the matching legs. Fix this design flaw, and you will have the almost perfect set of universal bench "building blocks."

The 60's are not 60
Purchased 36inch and 60inch runners. The 36in were close enough to 36in for my needs when you add in the o.d. of the legs. The 60inch, however, are roughly 59inch long when you add in the o.d. of the legs. This is still OK for my needs, but this may cause problems for some. (see attached pic)
60in comes up short versus 36 which is close enough

To create a stable base for an extra shelf in my shop stands. The stretchers are heavy duty and work great. Since the stretchers are already the correct size to fit the Rockler shop stands, I don't have to do any make-shift alterations.

These have much better ends than most workbench legs - they are heavier metal and the bottom will hold casters without buckling.

Because the person who sold me the legs at the store (I bought two sets) did not tell me I needed the additional stretchers (I was making two stands) to complete the project. Store personnel not helpful.

Do these stretchers fit the bench dog stand legs?
Edmund R on Jan 25, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I’m not sure about the Bench Dog brand. I purchased the Rockler legs, wheels, and stretchers which worked out perfect. They are strong and make great mobile workbenches.
