Nice step
I bought this to specifically work on a ceiling fan. The height is perfect for me. I am 5-7. I know it is aluminum and I am working on electrical. Don't panic. I turn the power off to the fan at the circuit breaker before doing anything.
This step allows you a little more movement for working on something just slightly out of reach. It isn't a whole lot more than a step ladder, but in my case it is just enough as it allows me to move about a body width without having to get down and move a step ladder over to reach something safely.
It seems to be built well enough for an average or slightly overweight old man like me! There is a step on the end to help you get onto the platform should you find the height a little big to get onto from floor level. I'm not sure that it made it much easier, but it did provide a little help.

Why did I weight so long?????
Rockler has a real WINNER here. Always thought one would be handy around the house and shop. When the sale price came up I said"I have waited long enough". Boy was I in for a most pleasant surprise. Should have spent the extra money and bought at full price because it is a MOST handy item. Mostly for my wife and the G kids when then come to visit. Lite, sturdy and EASY to carry. I am always renovating my 1900 home and have been putting an 8 x 10’ board between two ladders. Just had replacement windows installed and the crew were using several of these platforms. This Aluminum Folding Scaffolding Platform seems to be a lot easier to move around than a step ladder when painting or just reaching the top shelf or changing a light bulb.

Is it osha approved and ansi certified?

BEST ANSWER: No it isnt. There are no OSHA tags on it. I cant find any regulations against it. Except for use near electrical boxs/components. It is all aluminum with steel corner supports and feet.
Are replacement foot pads available from the manufacturer?

BEST ANSWER: Yes it is very sturdy and I weight 255lbs. Have had no problem and it is nice to have and steady to use in the house. Like the rubber feet to prevent slipping. I went and bought a second one for the outside.
