Arbortech mini-grinder great for contouring chair seats
Arbortech grinding blade cuts great in hardwoods as well as softwood. Have not yet needed to sharpen, but looks as though it could be done with chainsaw files. Be aware that it throws a lot of wood chips around during carving. Side handle gives easy control over carving to a line or pattern. Could have used in the past to distress furniture pieces instead of by hand with a scrup plane.
Definitely would recommend to others doing furniture making or large carvings.

A machine with potential; but overly aggressive and must be used with extreme caution.

Would this work with Arbortech's ball gouge?
    Jacob M on Feb 5, 2018
BEST ANSWER: NO, the two tools do not work together. The ball gouge has a female thread which goes on a separately purchased grinder. The male shaft is apparently the same size and thread regardless of the brand of handheld grinder. I have both the mini-grinder and the ball gouge.
