Armor P7-HH Auto-Adjust Hold-Down Dog Clamp

Slips into a 3/4'' diameter dog hole and is easily height-adjustable for clamping objects up to 5-1/2'' thick.

All you need is a table with a 3/4'' hole in it to use this incredibly convenient hold-down clamp. Just drop it into any 3/4'' dog hole and it rotates 360° to clamp at any angle. The spiral aluminum dog peg is a full 7-1/2'' long for plenty of height adjustability, while the clamping pad can be adjusted laterally for more or less throat depth. Perhaps best of all, clamping pressure is automatically adjusted when you close the lever! The pressure is adjustable if needed—just turn the adjustment screw. Once set, it stays the same for all stock thicknesses. Try it out for yourself to see how fast and versatile it is!

Features:
  • Auto-Adjust: Armor’s Auto-Adjust technology automatically adjusts to variations in workpiece dimensions while maintaining consistent clamping pressure
  • Adjustable Clamping Pressure: The integrated adjustment screw is used to create a wide range of clamping pressures. Rotate the screw clockwise to decrease and counterclockwise to increase the clamping force
  • Strong, Lightweight: Auto Clamps are constructed of ZAMAK Zinc alloy, which allows for an incredibly strong, lightweight tool
  • One-Handed Operation: Armor’s Auto-Pro AutoClamps are designed for one-handed operation, a huge advantage over the competition
  • Large Soft-Grip Handle: Horizontal handle features soft insets for maximum grip and comfort
  • If you do not have a peg table, simply drill a 3/4'' hole in any worktable (Recommended minimum table thickness is 3/4'')

Very good hold down clamp.
This clamp has plenty of holding power and is easy to use. You adjust how much pressure you need and no matter how many times you unclamp it, it stays at that pressure. Very nice to work with!

Excellent Product and Customer Service
I purchased several of these clamps when they first came out. I may have been that I got a bad one because the gray part on the lower part of the clamp cracked and broken from the pressure exerted from the levering action. I didn't think I would be able to get my money back because I didn't have my proof of purchase anymore, but the people at Armour were great. They asked me to send a picture of the broken product so they could look into the problem. They sent me a new clamp without hassle. It's great that the company stood by their products. I've been using the replacement without a problem. It's nice not having to pound on a holdfast.

I use this in my paulk-style workbench with a 3/4" plywood top. It has plenty of holding power, but works best with thinner (<4") stock.

Is the peg threaded? Size? Can the bottom of clamp receive a threaded rod or is it fixed to it present peg?

I have a 3/4" plywood top on my workbench...... and 3/4" holes. Some of the holes I have backed up with wood making the hole about 2". Other holes are just 3/4". Will these work in the dog holes that are only 3/4" thick?
Robert P on Jan 6, 2017
BEST ANSWER: As long as the 3/4" dog holes are completely through the work surface, these clamps will work well. However, the thicker the bench top, the better the clamps will work - more resistance to the center stem. I bought the shorter stems for mine as well, in order to have more versatility in clamping varying thickness of materials.
Will these work in a 20mm dog hole?
Greg M on Mar 10, 2019
BEST ANSWER: The peg is 3/4" diameter, which is just under 20mm, so it should fit.
Will these work with a Festool MFT?
Timothy C on Sep 6, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Timothy, As mentioned on their website, the Armor horizontal dog clamp sold by Rockler has a 3/4" post. Since 3/4" is smaller than the 20mm holes in your MFT, the posts will obviously fit into your MFT holes. However, since I don't have 20mm bench holes, I can't verify the holding power of these posts in your MFT. The good news is that Armor tool makes 20 mm posts which you can easily screw into the clamp. Visit the Armor tool website to order the 20mm posts if Rockler doesn't sell them: armor-tool. I can tell you that these clamps work great in the 3/4" holes in my bench - I love them.
