Arrow PT23G 23-Gauge Pin Nailer

Shoots an ultra-fine headless pin—ideal for small projects, moldings and trim.
Item #
53415
Rating:
76% of 100

The Arrow PT23G Pneumatic Pin Nailer fires thin, headless pins that reduce, and in some cases eliminate, the time and expense of filling holes with putty. It shoots 23 gauge pin nails measuring 3/8'' to 1'' in length—ideal for small projects, moldings and trim. Pins are also great for use as locators during assembly or when using templates. The nailer is compact, and constructed from die-cast aluminum for durablility and light weight. It features a quick-load magazine for rapid loading and reloading, an adjustable exhaust that directs air away from the user, a comfortable over-molded grip, and trigger-mounted safety mechanisms rather than a nose-mounted safety, which can mar small moldings and make proper alignment challenging.

Handy little tool
My first experience with pin nailers but now wonder how I got by so many years of woodworking and project assemblies without one. Have 16g and 18g, as well as regular finish nailers but this pin nailer hits the spot for holding small assemblies while glue sets.

Don't buy
Barely worked for a few hours before it started jamming. I am returning it and buying a different model. Not worth the money.

I do small woodworking projects as a hobby and the nailer would be helpful to hold joints etc while glue dries.

Didn't have one and the price was right. Will not be used very often and didn't need to spend the money for the more expensive versions, even though they are higher rated by users.

I'm confused, which pin nails will fit the arrow 23 gauge pin nailer?
charlie k on Nov 25, 2016
BEST ANSWER: this reminds me of when we used to drive by Grant's tomb in NYC my father would ask,"who's buried in Grant's tomb?" That would be a 23 gauge pin, Grant.
Is the shortest pin for sure 3/8" because the Arrow site lists the size as 1/2". It doesn't sound like much but I need 3/8" for sure , period ?

Will stapler work on hardwoods ?
Dick F on Apr 29, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Yes it will drive whatever the depth of your nail but it is just a pin nailer and not really meant to be the single holding item... I use mine to pin stuff to hold while the glue sets up or to pin layers together when I stack cut for the scroll-saw
