Baltic Birch Plywood-24 Inch X 30 Inch
Baltic Birch Plywood-24 Inch X 30 Inch

Each sheet of our Baltic Birch Plywood features exceptional strength and the ability to be finished to meet your project needs. The front, back and inner plies are all quality one-piece sheets, which result in excellent screw holding power. Faces may contain some matched plugs, and one face is light and even in color for an attractive finished face. All pieces are 30'' long, and are ripped to 24'' wide, an ideal size for base cabinet partitions. Available in thicknesses of: 1/8'', 1/4'', 1/2'' and 3/4''. All dimensions are nominal and may be slightly undersized.

Grade BB/BB: Both faces are relatively "void free" but may contain small patches and a slight knot pattern or mineral streaks. One face is light and even in color. Open knots and defects in a BB face veneer have been removed and replaced with small uniform ''football'' patches before being glued. The end result is a strong plywood that is attractive enough to be used on a variety of projects.

Looks great in bandsaw boxes
I use Baltic Birch plywood in my Bandsaw boxes for an interesting contrast and striping effect. It cuts and finishes beautifully.

Great Value
Purchased in store on sale at $7.99/sheet. Built some quick shop cabinets which turned out better than expected. A little danish oil and you wouldn't know it was built from the this inexpensively. I'll be back for more next time they are on sale.

Glad they have bigger pieces
I love rocklers plywood I used these bigger pieces to build a router table and Rocklers prices are better than any other online woodworking store I have found I always order plywood from here with shipping and every thing it's a lot cheaper and the plywood is good quality. I wish they weren't sold out of it right now or is order some more lol. It's handy 2 have around for jigs and things.

Baltic Birch
It was great to be able to buy small pieces of this. I am using it to line my 2x12 guitar amp cabinet to hopefully enhance the sound. The ply looks nice although in my case, doesn't really matter. If I were using it for other purposes, this would definitely look and feel great. I also got a great "sale" price on it although it wasn't in stock at the time I ordered it-had to wait a couple of weeks which was not to bad.

Is this plywood suitable for laser cutting? In other words does the glue used have chlorine or any other nasty chemicals that when burned produce toxic fumes?

Does the 1/4 inch plywood measure a true 1/4 inch?
D D on Jul 7, 2016
BEST ANSWER: According to my calipers the Rockler 1/4" Baltic Birch is 0.234 inches. A bit thicker than the Lowe's/Home Depot nominal stuff, which comes in around 0.2 inches.. When laser cutting tabs and slots, a 6mm slot provides a very tight fit, almost have to use a mallet.
Is this baltic birch interior grade with an MR glue line? I am looking for something to use with a laser cutter. Thanks!
K M on Apr 9, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I am not sure what MR glue line is, but I use a lot of 1/8 and 1/4 inch baltic birch plywood with my laser. I can vector cut both thicknesses with my 40 watt laser. Sometimes there are knotty areas that will not cut even after several passes. It appears to be an odd chunk of harder wood in the middle layers. I hope this helps. This plywood is one of the few that I have found that the laser can cut. Talking to others, it has something to do with the glue that they use that makes it laserable.
What is the ACTUAL thickness of this plywood? I know it is sold as "nominal width", but I need to know the measured thickness of both 1/4 and 1/2 inch sheets.
Steve G on Sep 19, 2016
BEST ANSWER: My sheet of quarter inch is 31/128 and the eighth inch is exactly 1/8. The last piece of half inch I had was 31/64.
Does the grain run long or short on these?
Brad R on Oct 7, 2015
BEST ANSWER: The finish grain runs on the long cut.
Is the 1/2" Baltic Birch Ply strong enough to be used for pantry shelving. The size of the shelves will be approximately 20" X 30"? Also just curious is there rule of thumb on what thickness to use for any particular span.
Anthony C on Nov 30, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Agree with recommendation above. For comparison, a 3/4" plywood shelf begins to bend with a load of books at about 30" - sooner with heavy reference books. Generally better to overbuild since everyone likes to overload shelves. Shelf pins in the back plus the sides can help somewhat, but the front of the shelf may need a solid piece or wood rabbeted to take the shelf.
Is this suitable for an ironing board? Or would it de-laminate under steam if left unfinished? Does the glue contain formaldehyde?
Darrell F on Jun 29, 2016
BEST ANSWER: To the best of my knowledge this uses interior glue, which is not designed for damp applications. I do not know if the product uses formaldehyde.
Do you know what kind of glue is used to put baltic birch together? I have a customer asking and I am not sure, I have just seen "exterior glue" mentioned. They are concerned for their children and off-gasses/VOC
wenanne on Jul 20, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I don't know what kind of glue is used but I have been using this plywood to make jigsaw puzzles for my grandkids for 10 years with no harmful effect noticed.
how thick is the veneer?
Albert W on Apr 14, 2018
BEST ANSWER: It depends on the thickness that you get 1/8” thick has about a 1/32 veneer 1/4” has 1/8” and it gets a little thicker as the thickness goes up.
Are the length and width actual measurements?
Ron S on Jan 19, 2018
BEST ANSWER: no, dimensions are nominal.
I need a 48in x 48in piece of 1/8in Baltic Birch Plywood cut to 26in x 30in and two 2in x 30in strips. Can you do that in Concord CA?
Michael M on Jun 7, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I live in South Florida. I am sure you can find someone closer.
