Really nice smooth finish
I had a spalted maple frame I made and put 2 coats of shellac on it and sanded. I sprayed a coat of this on it next and was amazed how smooth (like glass) and 'bump" free the wood was. I very lightly sanded with some 320 paper and then sprayed lacquer finish. I am going to buy more of this from now on really pleasedv with the results!

I have used almost every lacquer-applying...
I have used almost every lacquer-applying them with spray guns, aerosol cans or brushes in an attempt to find the best method of finishing guitars. There is no better product than these Behlen topcoats and sealers. I don't know how much money I've wasted on all these other products. Absolutely the best-nothing else even a distant second place.

I used this on the top...
I used this on the top of a chessboard I made. I wanted some buildup so I put it on pretty thick. The only runs I had were from the excessive amount of lacquer that I sprayed on. It came out smooth and clear.

I ordered one can of sanding...
I ordered one can of sanding sealer and four cans of the satin gloss for my project.  This is an excellent lacquer. I am very pleased with the way it lays down, and the resulting finish. Even without subsequent high-grit sand-outs, the finish is great. However, there is one thing that keeps me from giving this a higher rating. When a can is first used, the results are great. However, for three of the cans, even after clearing the nozzle as recommended, subsequent uses resulting in "spitting" - blobs of lacquer along with the fine spray. Once this is on the surface, there is nothing to do about it except let it dry and then sand it out. It's a really horrible feeling when you see this happening. I addressed the problem by removing the spray nozzles and soaking them in lacquer thinner between uses. I had no more spitting problems when reusing a can with this approach. Still, I recommend you test spray a piece of cardboard or newsprint before you turn the spray on your project. If you get blobs, you'll save yourself some sanding. /p>

Do not waste your money. The spray nozzle is poor, and the finish it left on all surfaces was full of blush. I tried it three times, with two separate cans, with terrible results each time.
