Cinnamon Pen Blank

Item #
44811
Rating:
100% of 100

These blanks exhibit a rich, rusty brown color, and emit a delicious cinnamon scent that is almost as enjoyable as the resulting pen. If you wish, you can tuck the wood shavings into mesh pouches and hang them in closets for a pleasing fragrance. The wood is a member of the cinnamomum genus, and is sourced from trees felled by storms and other natural causes in Central America.

Love this wood!
Cinnamon is a nice wood to turn. It's harder then Walnut, probably up there with Fruit woods and Olive wood. The rusty brown color is nice. The blanks smell like cinnamon and after turning, your shop smells like it also.

To get the most out of the color, apply a few coats of boiled linseed oil to the wood before you apply your finish. The boiled Linseed oil really enhances the wood. You'll be amazed at the result.

Delicious
I bought this blank just for the smell. My basement smelled horrible after turning some stabilized buckeye burl so I bought a lathe activated air freshener!

Fun to work with
Finishes very nicely, easy to work with hard wood. I have used the blanks on pens and seem rippers

I also bought the coffee scoop head. I like cinnamon with my coffee so I figured the wood would mesh well.
