Circular Touch Plate for CNC Sharks

Any time you change router bits on your CNC machine, you also need to reset the Z-axis to zero to ensure accurate machining depths. This precision-machined touch plate from Next Wave Automation makes that critical operation fast and easy. Simply lower the router bit until it contacts the touch plate, then follow the on-screen prompts to set your height. The touch plate is a must-have for engraving, especially on acrylics, metals and circuit boards, and also for using the Virtual Zero software included with most Next Wave Automation machines. Connecting the touch plate is easy—just plug one end into the pendant and attach the magnet to the collet or bit. Comes complete with a manual and heavy-duty cable that features a molded magnet holder and a 6' coiled cord.

Features:

  • Made from precision-machined aluminum
  • Heavy-duty 6' expandable cord
  • Molded clip holds a powerful neodymium magnet
  • Compatible with all Next Wave Automation CNCs equipped for touch plate use

Works great
Works great! My machine zeros routinely 10 thousandths off so I just subtracted that from the plate thickness in the software.

Touch Plate for Shark/Piranha
Simple and accurate touch plate for my Piranha CNC. It works quickly to set the Z depth on your table or material, as needed. The cable/connector to the plate is slightly thicker than the plate, itself. It requires a simple movement of the X or Y axis to a spot near the edge of the material so the cable doesn't affect the Z setting.

3/8" Plate is too thin
The Plug that goes into the plate, is thicker than 3/8" so the plate does not sit flush on material.

My husband has bought numerous tools and supplies from Rockler and is always very well satisfied with the quality. He had this particular item on a list of ideas for birthday gifts as his birthday is May 12. Thank you.
