Whether you're in the market for your first router table, or a second basic table to be left set up for common operations, this package makes a fantastic value. It includes everything you need except the router, offering many of the benefits of much more expensive tables. It's a full-size router table with nearly five square feet of low-friction melamine surface area, and includes a rigid, precisely extruded aluminum fence. The MDF sub-fences can be easily repositioned around the bit and a safety bit guard is included to protect your fingers. The 3/8'' thick phenolic router plate is pre-drilled to fit Group A routers (see below for details).

Features:

  • Includes router table top, router mounting plate, fence, bit guard, starting pin and steel stand
  • Powder-coated black steel stand is sturdy, yet lightweight (despite its appearance, the stand does not fold up)
  • Overall table height is 36''
  • Top is full-size—31-5/8'' x 23-3/4'' x 1'' thick MDF with a melamine veneer
  • Router plate is phenolic, 8-1/4'' x 11-3/4'' x 3/8'' thick with four leveling screws and an insert ring
  • Insert ring is 4'' O.D. and 1-1/2'' I.D.
  • Standard 3/4'' x 3/8'' aluminum miter track
  • Fence is 32'' long with a solid extruded aluminum backer
  • Fence and sub-fences offer tool-free adjustments

Included plate is pre-drilled to fit Group A routers:

  • Makita 1100
  • Milwaukee 5615-5624
  • DeWalt 616-618
  • Bosch 1617-1618
  • Ridgid 2930 Combo Kit
  • Hitachi M12VC (fixed and kit)
  • Porter-Cable 690, 890, 7529, 97529 and 8529

Note: Current models of the Porter-Cable 892 require at least two screws to be 1/2'' long versus 5/8''.

Economy Router Table set
Although this is their bottom of the line router table, it is stable and well built. I also purchased one of the shutoff switches to use with the router, but there's no place to mount it.

I added a piece of wood just big enough to hold the switch and mounted it to the bottom of the table near the right front leg. For additional support I drilled a hole through the leg to add additional support for the bottom part of the piece of wood.

Works like a charm. I also bought the Bosch 1617 router set with the fixed and plunge bases. The fixed base is mounted to the face place which I added a hole so the router bit blade can be adjusted from above. If I need to use the router out of the table, it pops out easily and into the plunge base, which can also work like a fixed base router.

Easy to assemble and very sturdy.
This table is very easy to assemble and is really sturdy. I was concerned it might wobble when pushing stock thru the router, but that's not going to happen! It's also the perfect height so as to not cause back fatigue from bending over too far. I've wanted this for a long time, and with the included accessory package that came with it, plus 4 router bits, I just couldn't resist it anymore. I'm glad I got it, and you will be too! Just tell them I sent you...they will love you for it!!!!

Great table
While I have not had this table for some time I can honestly say that while I had it, I loved it. It was a great height, versatile and easy to use. I did a lot of fancy routing with it and it served its purpose, as long as you set it up properly (which is not hard to do.) I now live where we have a community shop so it is not needed -- or I would buy it again. (We sold everything and RV'd full time for several years so it had to go along with most of my other shop toys!

Basic table delivers adequate results
Overall, the table performs as advertised. If I had a do- over, I would order the upgrade steel table which would accommodate locking casters and provide added stability. I did find the MDF fence faces to be less than accurate as they required shims between the aluminum to prevent sniping. I will replace the MDF with shop-built hard wood faces. I like the open steel table(s) as they provide the opportunity to customize an under-table cabinet for bits and other handy items. The table perfectly accommodates the Incra lift I also purchased for the PC 7518that I use in the table, and with a little ingenuity, the emergency kill switch can be mounted to a custom cabinet. I would definitely recommend this table to a friend.

Rockler Router table kit
Just received my kit today, easy to assemble. Very impressed so far with the quality of the materials & the design. It's obviously not for professional workworkers, but it will fit my needs as I'm an novice with a router. Actually quite heavy duty & sturdy. Seems to have all the necessary features to do significant work with a router. The only missing feature I found was the ability to offset the infeed vs. the outfeed fence. However Rocker provides a shim kit that allows that.
It would have been nice if the fences were higher. I can see adding extensions to them as a first step. Also, not sure why the user has to drill pilot holes to attach the stand to the table top when everything else is pre-drilled. Wasn't a big effort, just extra time & puzzling given the other aspects of this nice table.
More feedback after I route something!

All good for small applications
Had a split in the fence and the feather boards that come with it are too short for 2 x 4's...all in all the table is great and I've already begun using it for all kinds of stuff

My router has three holes 4 5/8" apart. Will the router fit your plate?
Larry on Apr 22, 2015
BEST ANSWER: You would need to drill additional mounting holes in the plate to match your router. The pre-drilled holes would not match.
How tall is the table mounted on the stand?
A shopper on Jun 24, 2015
BEST ANSWER: 36"
Can the infeed fence be adjusted separately (offset) from the outfeed?
Gary E on Aug 30, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Yes! The folks who responded by saying ‘no’ obviously have no clue how to operate a router table. All you have to do is shim up the outfeed face plate. Rockler sells a shim kit or you could simply slide washers over the bolts that attach the face.
How easy is it to change your bit, or the height of your router?
Heather T on Jul 11, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Easy. I used the standard mounting plate that came with the table, and custom mounted my old Milwaukee router to that. I can lift out the plate with the router attached to change bits, and to change depth I reach under the table, release the lock on the router and adjust the depth ring.
what is a good router for this table?
jeff s on Jun 19, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Hello Rockler,

I hooked the table up to my old Porter Cable 6902 Router. It fits just fine and you provided plenty of other screws to hook up other brands if I needed to.
I want to make cabinet doors with this table and some of my friends say that I need a 3 HP motor to do it properly so I don’t know why to answer this consumer since my router is NOT a 3HP router.
I would say, any router would work just fine given the parts you sent out but to do all projects I just don’t know. I am doing my research and I will find out as soon as I can.
OVERALL the table is just great, especially with the 4 piece accessory kit that came with it.

Thank you,
John H
Can you mount the top to a cabinet or something other than the metal legged frame?
Nate L on Nov 8, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Nate, I bought this top years ago with fence but no metal stand and mounted it to a shop built router table cabinet. If I remember correctly I just lag screwed it onto the cabinet top from the underside. Worked just fine. Save the legs for another project. Good luck, Quent
What is in the accessory kit? I see it is included free but I can't see what is in the kit.
Thank you,
JTW
John W on Jun 26, 2015
BEST ANSWER: The first item is an attachment to hook up the hose for dust collection. The other three items are feather boards. Two attach to the fence to give downward pressure and one in the track to provide side pressure for your project. Hope this helps. PS. Click on the picture of the table and it shows the fee package. Click on that picture and you should get a full description of the package.

I have a router porter cable that requires a " c plate " can the A plate be converted to to fit my porter cable. ?
Karen S on Dec 22, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Sorry Karen I do not know the difference in the plates that you reference in your question but I removed the base plate that came with my Porter Cable router and it fit perfectly.
will it accommodate a large plunge router or is it only for trimming routers?
Fenceart F on Dec 16, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I use a full size fixed base Bosch router on it. I don't see why a plunge wouldn't work on it, as I used one on my old table, and the base on it was pretty much the same size as the fixed base. But I don't believe a trim router would fit it as it is much smaller. This is a great, sturdy table. I love it.
Are you only offering this with the Group A plate?
Adam H on Jun 7, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Yes.
is there any chance i could mount my festool router?
A shopper on May 27, 2015
BEST ANSWER: If the predrilled holes don't fit, you can always drill your own holes in the plate to fit your Festool router. My Rigid router fit the holes; but, I drilled one so that I could reach the lift bolt with the t-wrench.
I don’t see a craftsman listed as the predrilled holes in the plate. Does that mean I can’t use it with that router?
Naomi J on Nov 11, 2018
BEST ANSWER: If it’s not listed I don’t believe it fits. I have a ryobi router that wasn’t on the list and it didn’t fit, so I just marked and drilled the mounting holes my self.
Can the hole in the table accept a large diameter bit Is the fence adjustable to open for large diameter bits? (ex. Raised panel cutter)
Jarrod W on Nov 7, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Yes it can. You have to change out the center ound plate. And yes the fence is adjustable. I actually removed the rectangle plate and dropped in the adjustable Rockler router plate

which router Lift is compatible with The Complete Basic Router Table ?
Bacar D on Jul 13, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I happen to have previous experience using some of the jigs from Incra, so that's the one I ordered and am using, I wasn't disappointed with my choice, and having used it several times since it arrived, I'm enjoying it more every time I use it. As for the basic router table with accessories, I found it to be adequate. In retrospect, If I were to do it again, I'd have ordered either the steel stand or the wooden cabinet which would have negated the additional work of building my own cabinet and mounting the basic table to a half inch sheet of plywood complete with casters. Overall, I'm happy with the result.
Any Casters available for this stand?
A shopper on Jul 7, 2015
BEST ANSWER: no, this stand is not suitable for casters.
Is this table adaptable to Porter Cable Models 1001, Plunge Model 6931, or the Model 6902?
Bill M on Jun 19, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Its 3 predrilled holes fit my Milwaukee base but not my Bosch, which uses 4 holes. Don't know about the P-C. It wasn't a big deal to drill and countersink the top so I could mount the Bosch base. The round insert was a hair thicker than the rabbet, so I sanded it down so the top was flush. I also chose to drill the aluminum L-shaped base of the fence to mount the dust collector - couldn't see any other way to attach it. So a little tweaking but not a big deal for the money. The legs are sturdy, the table is flat and the fence is square, so it's got the basics.
