how do you unpack and set up miter saw? DW713
    Michael on Jun 21, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I just purchased a 713 last week. Open the box, remove the dust bag and manual that are packed on top. Open the plastic covering, grab the handle and pull it out of the box. Saw is completely assembled as you get it. The arm and blade are locked down for shipping. Review the manual, it'll show how to slide the arm lock pin out, which will let the blade and arm come up. Pretty simple, basically two steps. Review the manual before doing anything with the saw. Mine was set up perfectly as received. Everything was at 90 degrees, nothing had to be adjusted. You'll need a small square to check it out. Really, it doesn't get any easier than this one!
How many watts does this use for startup and for running? I want to connect to my generator
    A shopper on Apr 9, 2015
BEST ANSWER: It is 15amps. At 120 volts, that would be 1800 watts.
Can the DW713 handle 3 1/2 inch baseboard trim?
    James K on Feb 27, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The quick answer is yes at all angles. Even though it does not have the sliding function, it can handle most of the stock that I use. I do not think it can cut a 2 x 12 though (you would have to flip it and match the cut). I hope this helps. Great saw for the money. Accurate dead on miter gauge, and very smooth cuts with stock blade. Michael H.
What type are the dw713 you have available? I am looking for a type 1 because it is compatible with the xps light system.
