NICE SAW
I got this saw for Christmas and so far it has worked great, better on thinner materials. I clamped to my work bench and it vibrates way more than I like...simple fix was mounting a piece of 1/4" rubber to a flat board then mounting to the bench. the rubber acts as a shock absorber and vibration barrier...now it,s a gem of a saw...only problem was / is finding blades...I have had to order direct from Dremel. Either Rockler does not carry or they were out both times I looked.

If you are in a situation where you need to make precision cuts and need a saw you can take with you or you just have limited shop space this is the saw for you. I bought the saw to cut holes in plastic boxes but while I had it out I tried it on some thicker wood as well. It's a little slower through the 3/4 plywood but went through the plastic very easily. Very nice kit, comes with clamps to hold it down to a table. Only negative thing I could say would be the blades take a little practice to get through a hole in your piece and attached to the saw.

Moto Saw
I was impressed with this machine, it does have limitations.
My max cut was 1 5/8". I used it like my scroll saw.

I like it
The little height of cutting saw length is a disappointment but it is what it is. I can just do what the machine is okay with like cutting only on down stroke. I have adjusted and I got my money’s worth. Thanks for asking.

Have always had a Drexel! Looking forward to this beauty! Going to try some new projects. This will be a star piece of equipment.

I like the fact that it can be used as a handheld tool AND a tabletop tool. I think my husband will really enjoy it ( and me, too!).

My work shop is space limited. I can use it in many locations, because it can be attached to any of my custom made cabinets or my work bench. I can store it in one of my cabinets when not in use. But best of all I can detach it from the base plate and use it as hand held <br />jig saw.

What kind of blades does this use?
A. K on Aug 23, 2017
Can the saw blades be purchased separately?
Kent H on Mar 26, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Dremel offers 4 kinds of proprietary (3.9" pin end) blades designed specifically for the Moto Saw: MS50 side-cutting blade, MS51 wood & plastic cutting blade, MS52 fine wood-cutting blade, and MS53 metal-cutting blade (see the Dremel website). They can be hard to find. I bought extras from an online dealer specializing in hobby tools. Rockler would do us all a favor by carrying these blades.
What is the maximum thickness of material that can be cut?
Jim R on Mar 15, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Dremel recommends a maximum thickness of 3/4" for most hardwoods and plywood, or up to 1-3/4" thick for very soft materials such as balsa wood. The maximum thickness that will fit under the foot is about 2-1/8".
Can the saw be tilted for angle cuts?
Vern W on Apr 14, 2018
BEST ANSWER: There is no provision on this saw for tilting the blade to do bevel cuts.
I make jewelry pieces from hard shelled gourds I have been using a hand held proxxon gourd saw. The vibration of holding a small piece in one hand and jig saw in the other is difficult . Wondering if the Dremel Moto saw would work better?
Debbie D on Oct 30, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I bought this saw for basically the same as you, to cut small pieces and it worked better than I expected. I have a full size Dewalt scroll saw in the shop but purchased this to use in the basement when I did not want to go to the cold shop in the winter. If you cannot purchase a good full size scroll saw than this is the next best thing in my opinion.
