FastCap® ChopShop Saw Hood
Just what I needed for my project in my basement. I wanted some thing to keep the sawdust contained and this fits the bill. Yes there is a small amount of dust that ends up on the floor under the saw and hood, but that is far less than what was all over the place before I purchased the hood. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to contain sawdust from a power miter saw.

Very impressed!
Absolutely worth every penny! Really is very effective for dust and waste control. Fits my Dewalt rather tightly in the front. But seals completely. I would highly recommend this product!
I have since straightend out the wrinkles. Tight fit for the Dewalt. But sealed 100%.

No dust on floor or behind the saw. Minimal cleanup around the front of the saw. Use to hate using this saw because of the mess. No longer a problem!
Screwed the hood to the table. Works great. No dust on the floor or behind the saw.

Very good well made.
I needed something to keep dust from traveling all over my shop when using my miter saw. My shop isn't very big for dust collection system. I saw this fastcap chop saw hood. I bought it and when I received it, It was easy set up and well made. It captures all the dust and I don't have dust on the walls and floor.

A Chop Saw or Sliding Miter saw is the dirtiest tool in the work shop. It covers up everything with saw dust and it is
next to impossible to contain this dust. This appears to be one of the best ways to collect a lot of the waste and it is portable with the saw.

How much space is required behind the fence for the hood ?
A shopper on Jul 18, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Approximately 30"
Can this be used if using a Dewalt miter saw stand?
Bob F on Mar 22, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Yes. I have the ChopShop hood with a Makita compound miter saw mounted on a Dewalt saw stand. It works fine except when I am cutting at a 45 degree angle. Then I have to temporarily pull out one of the hood supports. Not a big inconvenience and the hood still works and the support is easily reinstalled when I have made my cuts. I recommend the ChopShop saw hood for miter saw dust control.
Wiil it work for cutting steel studs and what about sparks?
stephanie k on Mar 27, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The hood material is nylon and I would not use this hood for. Utting steel studs that will probably be hiot when they come off. The nylon will be easily damaged by hot sparks and stud cutoffs and could catch fire.
Can I easily attach it to my homemade wood and plywood saw table? I have a ten inch hitachi.
Jeffrey P on Mar 8, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I attached mine to a DeWalt chop saw. I believe most chop saws have the necessary holes where the posts on the hood slud into to support the hood. If not, you could drill the appropriate holes.

Will this miter saw dust hood work with my Harbor Freight 12" dbl. bevel sliding compound miter saw?
tootall on Jun 18, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I use the chopsaw hood with a craftsman 10" dbl bevel sliding saw with no problems. There is plenty room on each side of the saw. I am pretty sure that a 12" saw will be just fine.
