Item #
88% of 100
FastCap's SpeedTape provides a clean, efficient way of applying veneer, edging and even small moldings with no messy overspray or expensive hot-melt edging machines. Just peel off the liner on one side, apply to the edge, peel off the other liner, and roll on your edging. The adhesive increases in strength as it cures, providing a long-lasting permanent bond.

  • FastCap SpeedTape is completely waterproof
  • Rated from 30° to 250°
  • As always, do a test to ensure SpeedTape is suitable for your application
  • Finishing veneers is very important with SpeedTape - always follow finishing instructions precisely
  • Ideal for: edgebanding, veneers, laminate, applying carpet, jigs and fixtures, general adhesives, peel-and-stick moldings

Great tape. Use it to keep pieces being glued from slipping due to clamp pressure. A small piece on the ends will hold your work in place.

How does this do attaching unfinished wood to a finished wood surface (e.g., polyurethaned surface). Will it bond permanently in this case as well?
Gnugs on Dec 25, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I have used this tape as a temporary bond on unfinished wood. It is a strong bond, It holds boards together while being sawed. If I take too long the bond is hard to break. I believe this tape will hold anything together, as long as the surface is roughed up the surface.
Is this SpeedTape permanent enough to use for bonding sections of 1/8" wood in an intarsia project?
E.L. H on Oct 3, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Speed Tape has very strong bonding strength. I haven't tried it as a permanent bond, so don't know how it would work for a long time.
Need to attach 3/8 trim to glass wondering if anyone has done this.with this tape?
gerald B on Jun 15, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I have used Speed Tape to attach many types of trim including wood and metal to glass. It will work but the glass may break if you try to remove the trim.

Hot-Melt Edge Bandings – 50' Rolls
Hot-Melt Edge Bandings – 50' Rolls
BEST ANSWER: FastCap SpeedTape is a thin double stick tape. You could probably use it to attach end banding but not with a hot iron. The tape would have to be trimmed to match the banding if it is too wide. You would need a roller to press it down uniformly. If it is too narrow, then there would be gaps at the edge and the banding would peel or break. Hot iron is probably best.
