With the help of FastCap's new Wood Washers, you can now effectively turn any tapered head wood screw into a Powerhead screw with the extra holding power of a 1" head. The Wood Washers have a countersunk hole that the screw tucks into for a neat, flat appearance, and with the head neatly seated, you'll have less breakage than with ordinary washers. The generous flat area acts like a bolt with a fender washer-perfect for shop jigs with slot adjustments, or for attaching table tops with slotted cleats to allow for wood movement. They're also ideal for assembly in thin or fragile materials such as OSB, where pull-through would be a concern.

Thin and flat, with little relief to lay flat.
Works great with a wide base for holding power. Lies flat unlike most finish washers that look like little volcanos that blew their top. Used them to anchor my rural mailbox to a post.

Inexpensive insurance.
Mounted a big cabinet over the washer and dryer putting a woodscrew along the studs and joists. They have a nice even 1" diameter so a common Forstner bit let's you put in a spotface so you can maintain a smooth surface inside, but I'm not the least bit worried about any screw heads pulling through the carcass.

Would not use them for furniture or shelves where they would be visible. These are practical and not decorative.

I have a piece of 3/4" MDF as a sacrificial top on my workbench. The MDF has several 3/4" holes for bench dogs, and I'm hoping to countersink these 1" washers to center and secure 5/16-18 machine screws which will be used to hold various heavy tools which are mounted on boards.

I am always look for washers that will fit screws to increase the holding power. This look great for that purpose. Now I don't have to make due with conventional ones.

I will use these to install on a board table to connect the table top to the leg support. The leg support will have elongated holes to allow wood movement. These large washers will allow movement but provide support.

Envisioning projects where the additional holding power would be a great help. Could see using a speed bit to counterbore the surface rendering these flush.

I use these to hold the backs of frames on after I make a slight recess with a 1 inch forstner bit.
